Farm De Hagepoorter is a realisation of the family Tijl Waelput - Maite Arjona. The buildings were purchased in 2010. After a huge refurbishment doors could be opened in 2014. Before the farm was property of the family Verdonck. Hagepoorter is a word from the Middle Age and means "citizan of a city who lives outside of that city". It is a wink to ourselves. We have been living in Brugge for many years where we runned first hotel Botaniek and afterwords hotel Jan Brito . But the name also refers to the hedge that we planted over 500 meters of the property. In cooperation with the ecological society Regionaal Landschap "Houtland" we wanted to contribute to support biodiversity. We live on the farm ourselves and can be contacted easily for any assistance you might need.
Farm de Hagepoorter has 5 elegant holiday houses called after 5 of the typical domestic plants that you will observe in the hedge that surrounds a big part of the property : Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Wild Rose, Hornbeam and Holly. They all have : a complete kitchen (fridge with freezer, electric stove, microwave oven, dishwasher) dining table and chairs, sitting area with sofabed, TV with DVD, wireless internet and telephone with direct dialing, bathroom terrace with table and seating furniture, Beds for 2 to 4 persons in 1 or 2 sleeping rooms (can be made as double or single beds. Please inform us about your preference when booking). The house for 6 persons has an extra small room with bunk beds.
Pets are welcome. They do not belong in the beds, on the armchairs or in the swimming pond. Dog waste goes into the garbage. In the apartments it is not allowed to smoke. All apartments have a lockable ashtray which can be used on the terrace. Please do not throw the cigarette buds in the garden. They harm the plants.
